Snake Poem

I was walking to the bus stop this morning in the predawn darkness and began singing, like I do many mornings. This is what came to me:

I am the Snake that bites its tail, symbol of eternity, a never ending cycle of life, death, and rebirth.
I am the serpent entwined around the staff, symbol of healing, I am the Shaman that you seek.
I am the Cobra rising proudly from the crowns of kings and queens, a symbol of protection and their power.
I am the Serpent draped across the shoulders of a priestess, symbol of the Goddess, I am a medium from whom She speaks.

I also had an idea for a book of poems. It's going to be a collection of my poems and short stories related to the Goddess, the Earth, Paganism/Wicca, and related subjects. I'll keep you updated on its progress.
